We woke the kids up really early and headed out to the park to watch all the hot-air balloons take off! Today is the kick-off of our town's harvest festival. It's a long weekend full of fun events. 

The kids really enjoyed watching them take off and waving good-bye to the people in the baskets. Paxton kept saying "Hot Boons! (balloons)"

I decided to join my husbands co-ed softball team for their fall league! We have our first practice tonight and I'm a bit nervous, it's been awhile since I've played any sports. But it should be fun and a good work out too! =)

Our team name is Pitches Be Crazy...makes me laugh! I took a picture of our sassy shirts! Lime green...so awesome!

My poor poor pathetic toes. They get neglected a lot more than they should. Before kids I would get a pedicure at least once a month. Now my priorites have changed and these puppies never get TLC.

I told Alexis if she cleaned the whole play room AND her bedroom that I would let her have a popsicle. It totally worked! That girl cleaned her little heart out until it was all done.

We are die hard Broncos fans! We have season tickets and Cory and I never...and I mean NEVER miss a game! We thought it would be fun to bring the kidlets with us for a pre-season game. They loved it! 

It's been a long 7 months without football. It felt so great to be back in the stadium surrounded by our Broncos family. They all loved seeing the kids and playing and dancing around with them. It was a fantastic night. We are counting down the days until kick-off of the first real game! Eeeek!!!

(I switched over to Auto and gave the camera to a friend. I sitll really love this picture though!)

Someone got to pick out their first pair of big boy underwear today!

Paxton has been showing a lot of interest in the potty and has even started going on it! He isn't super consistent with letting me know when he has to go though, it just seems pretty random. We're going to wait until after my brother's wedding to start potty training boot camp!

I'm putting together a photo album with all my Project 365 pictures in it and as I was looking through it today I realized I didn't have a single picture of JUST my husband! I have no idea why, he is by far the easiest of my household to photograph. Not to mention he listens and does as I ask! So today we changed that and I took a few of my sweet hubby. =)

First Day of PRE-K!!!

She's at the same school, in the same classroom, and has the same teacher as last year. So her first day went very smoothly. She has been very excited to go back and see all her school friends. She wouldn't go into much detail about how her first day went, but she said she loved playing with all her best friends again! I think it's safe to say that she had a great first day back! =)

Summer is over. Tomorrow she goes back to school. Back to a schedule and a routine. Feeling very bittersweet.

My cousin and his wife got married a year ago today. Their ceremony was just them and a pastor (and me, I took pictures!) So here we are a whole year later and they decided to have a very low-key reception so that their families could celebrate. I got signed up to take the pictures, and I took lots. It was a wonderful evening. But my most favorite picture of the night is this one. That's my grandpa, Alexis calls him "big papa" When she saw him she came running towards him to give him one giant hug. I know it meant the world to him. He is such a great grandfather and an even better GREAT-grandfather. His health is going down-hill and we're not sure how much longer we have with him. It's so special to have pictures like this. This is the whole reason I got into photography in the first place. My heart is happy today.

Cory was able to take off work for a few hours this afternoon! So we headed to a park nearby that has train rides, we knew Paxton would love it! For 75 cents the kids gets to go on a train that takes them around the whole park. We've done it every summer since Alexis was a baby and they always love it. Here's a picture of Paxton giving me his best "choo-choo". He loved it so much we let him go twice. =)

He's in a hitting phase right now and is s..l..o..w..l..y catching on that hitting isn't nice and results in a 2 minute time-out on the Time-Out Bench. I had a very sad mickey mouse boy this morning.

Here's to hoping that the terrible twos don't get TOO horrible for us. Fingers crossed!

hmm... I wonder who could have left these little foot prints all over my wood floor? They just so happen to be the same size as Paxton's feet, but he says he didn't do it. It's a unsolved mystery... ;-)

What a crazy busy day!

We had to drive all the way back to Golden (about 1.5 hour drive) to the car dealership we bought  our mini-van at to pick up a check for the difference they owed us (why they can't give that to you the day you purchase the vehicle, I have no idea). Then we had to run to their bank so we could cash it. Then drove 30 more minutes to pick-up our Denver Broncos season tickets (sooo excited that it's football season!) Drove another 20 minutes to a DSW to get shoes for my bridesmaid dress. Then out to lunch and one very long drive back home. Phew.

After we got home we kicked back and relaxed and had some popsicles!

I took a picture of my kids in this location on the first day of the year and once again in May. I said I'd like to get a picture of my kiddos here in each season.... so here's my Summer take.

The kids were not having it tonight so I didn't walk away too happy with any of the ones I got and I may try again in a few days or I may just let it go...we shall see... I'm excited for Fall when all these trees start turning colors!

This picture is so awful. It makes me cringe. But.... it's the one and only picture I took today, so i had to use it!

Our neighborhood throws a BBQ party at the pool every 2 weeks all summer long. This was the first one we were able to make! The kids had a great time eating dinner at the pool and playing with all their neighborhood friends. I had a great time talking, so I didn't drag the camera out after this one. It'll just have to do.

Our small town is known for all the Pelicans. In fact, almost all the restaurants and stores have Pelican in the title. We go on family walks around the lake a lot and that's where most of them are. I figured I'd bring my camera this time and had high hopes of capturing one just taking off while it's wings are fully out. It never goes as planned though, right? I must have ran into Pelican nap time because these 2 on the left were the only ones that were awake. I waited and waited for one to take off and it never happened. Those dang Pelicans!

While we were outside doing some yard work Alexis found a little frog. She was able to catch it and hold it for a bit. When we told her it was time to let it go she told her little frog "Ok Rapunzel, it's time for you to hop back to the Zoo, that's where your mommy and daddy are!"

So stinkin cute!

I'm really kickin myself for not having my Macro lens close by...I could have gotten such better pictures.

Cory was on a adult slow-pitch softball team this summer. Today was the end of the season tournament. We spent most of the day out at the ballpark watching him play. Afterwards we went to BJ's Brewery with my brother and his fiance, we were all starving. It was a fun family day!

The ice-cream truck came by today, we let the kids pick out a treat. We figured there is only 2 weeks left of summer before the kids go back to school and this may be the last time the truck comes by this summer. Summer has gone by way too quickly this year.
