305|366 - halloween joy

We started the day off by going to Tiny Tot Trick-or-Treat with Brexlyn. She got the hang of it pretty quickly and instantly fell in love with collecting candy!

Afterwards we went to lunch with my parents, sister-in-law, and nephew. It was yummy! Then we headed to the school to go tot he kids' Halloween parties. Up first was Paxton's. I signed up to bring plates and napkins and help out with the craft. Luckily I was able to slip away from the craft table a few times to get pictures of Paxton!

Then we went down the hall to Alexis' classroom. I signed up to bring juice boxes (easy peasy!) and didn't volunteer to help with anything, ha! So I was able to just enjoy the party and chat with the other parents.

After school we had a little down time, ate pizza for dinner, then it was go-time! Trick-or-treating!

We got Batman, a cupcake, and Disgust!

My parents have season tickets to the Broncos games and they gave us their tickets for todays game AND watched all 3 kiddos so we could go. It was the perfect date day. And the Broncos WON!!

This kid always has the best bed head! That back chunk of hair that sticks straight up. No matter how hard I try to get it to lay down, it fights the good fight!

Last night I had a complete mental breakdown. I have bit off way more than I can chew with taking on way too many client sessions this Fall. I logged my hours for the week with shooting and editing and I am putting in about 60 hours a week right now PLUS I'm still a stay-at-home mom with no daycare options. I've been staying up until all hours of the night editing and responding to emails and messages. I just sort of.........lost it. 

So my knight in shining armor (my husband) swooped in a saved the day! He took today off of work and took care of B for me. He also got the big kids off to school, picked them up from school and did some house work too, while I sat in my office and edited. I worked from 6:00am-11:30pm, only breaking to go to the bathroom and eat. It was a long day and I was so tired of starring at my computer screen and sitting. But I got through it! I'm not completely finished, but I'm at least closer to being completed.

Next year I won't be taking on as much. I need to learn to say no.

301|366 - keeping busy joy

I have been so busy with client sessions lately that all my housewife duties have been put on the back burner. I woke up this morning and could not stand looking at the sink piled up with dishes- even collecting on the counter! The kitchen table was full of school papers that needed to be looked through. The living room was covered in toys. So I turned on some music, set a timer for 2 hours and said I would clean until that timer went off and then I needed to get back to editing.

Little B did so good and kept herself busy pretending to talk on my phone. Sweet girl.

B and I had a long drive this morning to pick up some canvases that I ordered. She did so good during the drive, but once we got home she had so much energy! So we loaded baby doll up in the doll stroller and we went on a nice long walk and enjoyed this beautiful Fall day.

Last year my mom said all she wanted for Christmas was a picture of all 4 of her grand babies together. Well... my sister-in-law and I left it till the last second and it was so frigid cold out last December that we ended up taking the kids to one of those franchise portrait studio places and got the photo. It turned out awful! So we said we would plan better for this year! We planned coordinating outfits, took them out to my favorite location in the Fall and got this! My mom is going to love it. =)

The kids built a fort and I found them doing shadow puppets, so I raced to grab my camera. I had to document this! But when I came back I was only able to get this one picture and they were on to the creepy flashlight faces and telling ghost stories.
