The first skinned knee of the season goes to Pax!

Big sis was riding her scooter around and lil bro was chasing after her and took a spill. No tears were shed over this injury. 

(yup, he's holding my lens cap! I've found that if I let him play with it he'll sit still long enough for me to get a picture! Success!)

We went to Cool Beans Playhouse today with a friend and her son Colin (one of Alexis' best pals!)

Their favorite thing was this big slide that comes out of a tree-house. Super fun!

We went to the Kites in the Park Festival today.

The kids got to make their own kites and then fly them! SO fun!!

Alexis and I were playing in the backyard and she picked me a "flower"

She put it on the concrete and ran and got some water.

She poured all the water on it and said "mommy, now it will grow really big for you!"

The weather is finally starting to get nice! Everything still looks pretty dead but I couldn't resist taking the kids out for some golden hour light! This was one of my favorites. I can't believe he is going to be 2  in exactly 1 month!

We had parent/teacher conferences for Alexis today. Her teacher told me 4 things...

1. That she is more advanced in all subjects but especially in math and science.

2. That she thinks our girl is ready to start reading.

3. That she is the most improved student of the year.

4. She is always offering encouraging words to her classmates and considers them all her friends.

I started crying! I am SO proud of my lil lady!

I let her have a sucker when we got home. =)

We played babies all afternoon. Luckily she let me grab my camera and capture some moments like this one. It's so sweet to watch her be so nurturing to her baby dolls. She's a great little mommy.

We went to the Mile High Flea Market with my parents today. We spent the entire day there which meant Pax missed his nap. When we got home this evening all he wanted to do was cuddle with mama. He wouldn't lift his head at all, just laid it on my shoulder.

This boy never slows down and hardly ever has time to snuggle. I soaked it all up and enjoyed every second of it!

I especially love their hair korkers that match every outfit. I have a bad habit of buying them ALL.

So I just switched over to shooting in RAW and I kept reading that you could "save" a really awful picture. I wanted to test this theory out.

The lighting was bad. It was dark and only had the light in his room on. It's super noisy and don't even get me started on the white balance. Gag.

So I tried to "save" it and it was a complete fail. This is the original picture- no editing. I wish I would have taken a good one earlier in the day just in case this didn't go as planned.

Lesson learned: always get it right in camera!

I did it! I did it!

Today I finally switched my camera over to shoot in RAW.

I still have a lot of learning and playing around with the editing of a RAW image. But I just had to document this big moment for me ;)

It was late and I was in bed ready to fall asleep when it hit me that I forgot to take my picture for the day! So I quickly jumped out of bed, grabbed my camera and took a picture of the first thing I saw.

Not the greatest picture, but at least I didn't miss a day! Right? Right?

DAY 100!!!!

I'm so proud of myself for making it this far! I haven't missed a day yet, wahoo!

Our last day at the Great Wolf Lodge before we make the long 9 hour drive home. 

(I bought a digital under-water camera! It worked great for all the water park pictures! Here's one of my  favs!)

We had dinner at the T-REX CAFE in Kansas City.

Pax is obsessed with dinosaurs, so I knew we had to go here to eat.

He LOVED it. He walked around and rawr'd at every dinosaur. He was pretty bummed when we left and kept turning around and waving good-bye. 

Such a cool restaurant. I wish we had one a bit closer!

The Great Wolf Lodge!

After visiting the in-laws for 3 days we decided to extend our drive and go on to Kansas City to visit the Great Wolf Lodge!

Over 2 years ago I watched an episode of "Undercover Boss" and they had an episode here. I thought the place looked so fun and I knew we had to go sometime.

Here's a picture of the giant indoor water park. This picture only shows a quarter of it. It's huge. We all had such a great time. I'm glad we were finally able to make this vacation happen! =)

My sister-in-law and niece are visiting from Michigan. It's been almost 2 years since we've seen them. We were SO excited to fianlly be able to spend some time with them. Alexis couldn't wait to play with her cousin Kristin. They were best friends 5 minutes after they met and they had a blast with each other!

When it's time to clean the house Cory always tells me to leave him one room and he'll do it when he gets off work. I love him for that.

I always make him do the master bathroom. Poor guy.
